(A)DISABLING SHUT DOWN FOR WINDOWSxp

all u want to do this harmless hack is have a win xp os installed on ur pc.

1)open up your run box

2)type in regedit in the run box

3)now enter the following section...

hkey current user\software\microsoft\windows\current version\policies\explorer

4)now right click on the blank space on the right hand side and

select new>then select a dword value.

5)name this new value as "noclose"(without quotes")

then give the hex value - "00000000"

6)then shut down the computer

the next day u open ur box you won't find any shut down button on the start column!!!

this trick is best for the pc's at your work place to amuse your friends.

but be careful, editing registry on anothers computer is considred as illegal. but hey,give it a try

(B)How to Speed Up BootUP - Windows XP

This is the first time I have written a tutorial, so please bear with me.

If you have a long wait when you boot up Windows XP, there is help (I had to do this for one of the girls I work with)and it's pretty simple

<start><run><msconfig><start menu>uncheck all unessesary programs<apply><OK><reboot>

what this is: go to the start menu, click on run, type "msconfig" (without qoutes), click on the start menu tab, look at the program list, and decide what programs you really need on the boot up (I chose to clear them all, making boot up time almost 3 seconds). After you have made your choices click apply, then click OK. You will then be prompted to reboot your computer. If you still have long boot time, you might have some items in your WIN.INI tab that are uneccesary, go back to the msconfig, and click the WIN.INI tab, investigate what each item is on this tab, and disable things like music, you can open them on the computer when you want, and don't have to have them as part of your boot up sequence.

(C) How to clean up your computer

A lot of people having trouble with trojans and virus and dont know how to clean it.

If you not sure what you doing, dont attempt anything.... specially advices from those who tell you what to do, but they not sure.... you can screw your computer even more than how it is.

Step by Step:

1- If you still have internet connection, download a full update Anti Virus, AdAware, SpyBot S&D, CrapCleaner, and JV16 or Hijackthis

2- If you dont have internet connection, use another computer to download those programs and install them using the CD-ROM drive.

3- Boot your computer in safe mode (pressing F8 key when starting up)

4- Scan your computer with the Anti Virus you installed in your computer.

5- Scan your computer with AdAware and SpyBot, then scan with CrapCleaner(which will clean the residuos left by deleted programs)

6- Use JV16 or Hijackthis and clean your registry(if you know what it can be deleted, otherwise dont use them).

7- Boot your computer normally and everything should be ok.

P.S. If you dont know how to secure your computer, dont use P2P Networks such as Kazaa, Edonkey and others. Also dont visit porn sites and please change your Internet Browser for Firefox.

(D)Customizing the startup and shutdown screens

You can change the windows the boring windows startup and shutdwon screens as per you choice.just follow the below given procedure:

NOTE:This is only for all versions of windows9x

(1)Create backups of the logos.sys(the exit screen image file normally found in the c:\windows directory) and logo.sys(the startup screen image file is normally found in the c:\directory) files.

(2)Rename the extensions of the logos.sys and logo.sys files to ".bmp".

(3)Now you can edit these files using graphic editors to suit your choice.

(4)Filnally,Rename these new modified files back to their original filenames and replace the older files.

(5)Next time you start your windows session you shall find that both the startup and shutdown screens have been replaced with you personally customized images.

(E)Locking the Windows Registry

You can easily lock the Windows Registry Editor of your computer to avoid being pranked.I'll help you just follow the below given steps-

(1)Open the Run window in the start menu and type regedit.exe and RUN IT.

(2)Search or scroll down to the following registry key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System

(3)Create a new DWORD value, DisableRegistryTools and set its data value to 1 to disable registry editing and to 0 to enable it again.

Just have a try and ask me later how to open the Registry Editor Again after locking it.

well no suspense,i'll tell you.

If you have done with locking of your registry editor and is pondering over how to reopen it ,just restart your computer and press F8 to display a number of options.

Now choose RESTART THE COMPUTER IN DOS MODE.

Now you PC will start in the DOS MODE.

There just type in REGEDIT.EXE

There appears your Registry Editor And now you can change its value to 0 to continue accessing the RegEdit.

Done with,Now just press the Ctrl+Alt+Del and select ShutDown tab and just choose Restart to Restart your PC in normal mode.
